  • Three-course welcome dinner at The Spinster Sisters on January 3rd; Five night accommodation at The Astro in Santa Rosa, California; Five on site breakfasts of coffee, granola, yogurt, fruit and pastries; Five writing seminars with Lizzie Simon with catered lunch at The Spinster Sisters; Five afternoon group excursions with transportation and guide .

  • Transportation to Santa Rosa and transportation outside of afternoon excursions; Purchase of all alcoholic beverages (aside from wine tastings); Dinners on January 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

  • Yes! The enrollment deadline is December 6.

  • No! All writers, in a sense, are beginners, so actual beginners will fit right in. Everything we do can be tailored to the toe dippers, and this is not a boot camp! We’ll be digging deep and letting go and having fun. The writing will come naturally.

  • Yes, you can. Fee without hotel and breakfast but inclusive of welcome dinner, writing seminars and excursions: $1625 with the retreat code SOCOLOCAL

  • You are welcome to join or be absent from any parts of the retreat, but I am not offering a discounted chopped up experience.

  • When possible, we fly to Santa Rosa’s airport, because it’s a short 15 Uber to the hotel/restaurant. But you can fly into SFO and take the commuter bus or rent a car. It is about an hour from SFO when there is no traffic.

  • $2000. Please note that the Astro has only two rooms with two beds. Once they are gone, they are gone! Contact me directly to claim one of the double rooms.

  • Absolutely! You can mask during the seminars and on rides to the excursions, select outdoor excursions, and eat in outdoor courtyards at The Astro and The Spinster Sisters. I am going to ask everyone to test on the first day, and I will provide tests for anyone who doesn’t bring one.

  • Yes! Please disclose any dietary requests or restrictions when you register.

  • Yes and yes! Some of the excursions require walking, hiking and yoga but others do not. Please disclose any mobility issues you have when you register.

  • Yes! Ask me directly about what opportunities there are for this.
